WPP Plc to acquire majority stake in Hyderabad-based Mindset

The group has five of India's top 10 agencies and collectively employs around 9,000 people,

  • It, however, did not disclose the size of the deal and the quantum of stake
  • Mindset is a full service advertising agency that offers creative services, strategic planning and campaign execution in digital, print and television
  • Mindset was founded by Santha John and Ram Gedela in 1998 and later joined by Anvar Alikhan
  • Mindset's unaudited revenues for the year ended March 31, 2011, stood at Rs 5.1 crore, with gross assets of Rs 4.3 crore on the same date, the WPP statement said
  • "From 2007, Mindset was an affiliate of JWT and it is a natural and thrilling finale to the acquisition
